Still catching up - spring carnival
Patrick and the kids went to a little carnival a couple of months ago. They met some friends from church, and had a great time!

Another trip to the Children's Museum
We're catching up a little bit again - these pictures are from a couple of weeks ago. We took a spontaneous trip to the Children's Museum with friends from church. It was such a hot, humid day that we needed someplace to play inside - with air conditioning! We had a great time at the museum and at lunch afterward.

Happy Fourth!
Yesterday was the 225th annual Bristol Fourth of July parade! It was a very HOT day, but we had a nice, shady spot with a good view for both kids.
The walk back to the van was the hardest part - it was so hot! Molly had the easy ride in the stroller. But Elijah was quite overheated by the time we got home. He cooled down just fine and took a good nap.

Elijah's Birthday Party
On Saturday, we celebrated Elijah's birthday with a party! Jackie's family came for the day, which was fun and a big help. We had a fun lunch with corn on the cob - a big favorite with everyone, and then during nap time we got ready for the party.
I finished Elijah's cake. I tried using fondant for the first time, and it turned out pretty well. I made a test batch first, which wasn't great, but worked well enough to use for some of the decorations. I made all the letters and decorations during the week ahead of time. The second batch of fondant, which I used to cover the cake, came out much better; and with the help of Jackie's extra hands, went on without too much drama. Elijah asked for a Woody and Buzz cake, so that's what I was going for.

All ready for the party!
We had the party outside in the yard. Jackie's family and some friends from church were there, and some of Elijah's friends from Patrick's office stopped by as well. The kids played in the sandbox, rode bikes, and played in the little swimming pools. We had munchies, and cake and ice cream. It was a fun afternoon!

Happy Birthday, Elijah!
Elijah is four years old today! We had a fun day of celebrating with him (although his party is tomorrow). Daddy came home for a special birthday breakfast of blueberry pancakes, and Elijah got to open a couple of presents. We spent the morning going to the library and then the park. It was a really pretty day, perfect for playing outside! Elijah was especially looking forward to going to the library because he really wanted to check out Toy Story 2, so he could watch it for his birthday. We have the first one and have watched it a couple of times, and Elijah was excited to see the second one. Unfortunately, it was already checked out when we got there. We still had a great morning, though, and Daddy managed to find a copy of the movie for us! We stopped at Daddy's office on the way home from the park to pick up the movie, and everyone wished Elijah a happy birthday. We had tomatoes, Toy Story mac n' cheese, and blueberries for lunch - all of Elijah's very favorite foods in one meal!! After naps, Elijah watched Toy Story 2 and got to talk to his grandparents on the phone and Skype. We had sub sandwiches for dinner to round out his day of favorites. It was a good day to turn four!
