Spring, continued ...
We got snow on Tuesday, and it melted on Wednesday. Other parts of town (Weld County - the world's craziest weather) had flash flood warnings and then actual (but not flash) flooding, and tonight the tornado sirens were going off during dinner. But it was a lovely spring day today, and it's supposed to be 80 degrees on Sunday. Gotta love the crazy Colorado springtime - it's never boring!

Missing Daddy
Elijah and I have been on our own this weekend while Patrick is in Pittsburgh. We were worried that Patrick might not get out of Denver on Thursday, since they were predicting 6-12 inches of snow! He made it, and we only saw a few flakes. Elijah was excited to talk to Daddy on the phone - his face just lit up when he recognized that voice. We've had a good weekend, but we will both be pretty excited when Patrick gets home! It has been a good reminder of how lucky we both are that Patrick is such a fun and involved dad.
The little man was happy to hear Daddy on the phone.

Some days you just need a little extra help
Elijah woke up from his nap in a bit of a funk. When I went in to get him, he had one pacifier in his mouth and one in his free hand. When I unwrapped him, he had to pick up the third pacifier as well. He just needed a little extra comfort! After a few minutes of cuddling he was willing to put the extras down - it's hard to play with your hands full.

Growin' up
Elijah has been practicing standing lately. How did my baby get so old? Although he doesn't seem to have any respect for gravity (just let go - it's no big deal), his balance is getting pretty good. And just watch out - if there's music on, he's dancing!
Look, Ma! One hand!

Playin'
Elijah took a great nap this morning - nearly 3 hours! He had a great playtime when he got up. Apparently, however, he took some inspiration from his t-shirt ("I do all my own stunts") and decided it was about time he started taking some risks. Instead of sitting solidly like he always has before, E suddenly dove sideways after a toy and bumped his head and lip on the blocks laying on the floor. The crying was over pretty quickly and E went back to playing happily.
Check out the battle-wound!
Serious splashing!
